Day 2VISIT TO TBILISI & OENOLOGY LESSON

Breakfast at the hotel
You’ll visit the Narikhala fortress, created in the 4th century and considerably enlarged since then by the Umayyads, King David the Builder, and then destroyed by the Mongols. It overlooks Tbilisi and the Mtkvari river, offering panoramic views of Tbilisi.
Lunch in the historic center of Tbilisi in a typical Georgian restaurant. You’ll already be introduced to Georgian gastronomic traditions.

You’ll then stroll through the maze of the old town, a veritable jewel of architecture and layout, with its carved wooden balconies, winding cobbled streets… old Tbilisi is both an Oriental and a medieval European city.

During this meal, you’ll enjoy an oenology lesson on Georgian wines.

Day 3TBILISI - MTSKHETA - MUKHANI

Breakfast at the hotel.
You’ll plunge into the heart of Georgian culture with a morning dedicated to local cuisine. In fact, you’ll take part in a “Master class” during which you’ll prepare your own Georgian lunch. Then discover the Georgian alphabet and language in a creative workshop.
Finally, you will visit the magnificent town of Mtakheta
Round off this enriching day with a visit to charming Mtskheta and exquisite wine tasting at Château Mukhrani.

You’ll head off to visit the medieval town of Mtskheta, a charming town with a rich past that will captivate you with its architectural treasures and picturesque atmosphere. You’ll visit the enchanting monastery of Djvari, perched on a promontory majestically overlooking the junction of the Aragvi and Mtkvari rivers.

Finally, you’ll reach the famous Château Mukhani and taste its renowned wines made from original grape varieties: Shavkapito, Kindzmatsaraouli, Saperavi, and sometimes Cabernet!

You’ll dine in the Château’s restaurant.

You’ll return to Tbilisi after dinner.

Day 4GEORGIA'S SOVIET HISTORY AND TROGLODYTE TOWNS

You’ll be immersed in Georgia’s Soviet history as you explore Tbilisi’s iconic monuments and fascinating museum of Soviet cars. In the afternoon, you’ll head for Gori, Stalin’s birthplace. You’ll visit the museum dedicated to Stalin, bearing witness to a complex past. Finally, you’ll take a stroll through the mysterious troglodyte town of Ouplistsikhe, where ancient remains tell the secrets of a thousand-year-old civilization. This day will be an emotional journey through the pages of Georgian history.

Day 5SOUPRA & DAVID GAREJA MONASTERY

You’ll leave your hotel for Sagaredjo. Visit Ninotsminda Cathedral. Then you’ll attend a traditional Soupra. Soupra is a traditional Georgian meal that brings families and friends together around a table to share delicious dishes and local wines. You’ll have the opportunity to discover the local culture through this unique culinary experience.

After lunch, you’ll head off to David Gareja. David Gareja is a Georgian monastery famous for its ancient frescoes and unique location on the cliffs of Georgia’s semi-arid desert.

In the evening, you’ll arrive in Udabno to spend the night in a local guesthouse. Guesthouses in Georgia offer a warm, authentic experience where you can meet Georgians, taste traditional cuisine and discuss Georgian culture.

Day 6SIGHNAGHI - BODBE

Start your morning with a visit to the charming medieval town of Sighnaghi, located at the foot of the Caucasus mountains. It’s known for its traditional architecture and cobbled streets that offer breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and green valleys. Take a stroll through the streets of the old town, admire the stone buildings and visit the small stores selling local crafts. In the evening, Sighnaghi is particularly pleasant, with its streets lit by street lamps, giving it a romantic, poetic atmosphere.

Afterwards, you’ll visit the Bodbé monastery, located a few kilometers from Sighnaghi. Bodbé is a Georgian Orthodox monastery dating back to the 9th century. It is known as the burial place of Saint Nino, who converted Georgia to Christianity. The monastery is surrounded by a beautiful garden and offers a breathtaking view of the Alazani valley.

Day 7SIGHNAGHI - SAGAREJO - SUPRA - TBILISI

You will depart from Sighnaghi and return to Tbilisi. Once in the Georgian capital, you’ll be treated to an introduction to Georgian dance and song. Music, song and dance are an integral part of Georgian culture. Traditional polyphonic songs, known as “Georgian songs”, were inscribed on UNESCO’s list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2001. Georgian music is often accompanied by traditional musical instruments such as the chonguri, panduri and doli. Georgian dances are also very popular, with colorful costumes and graceful movements that often tell stories of everyday life and Georgian history.

In the evening, you’ll dine in a traditional Georgian restaurant, where you can watch Georgian dancing and singing during your meal.
